Lima: Doris M. Sullivan, 86, recently received by the Lord on July 6, 2017.
Doris was born on December 17, 1930 in Rochester, NY, the daughter of Raymond J. and Alice C. Sullivan. She was predeceased by her life partner Lorraine Cooper.
“Dorie” retired from the University of Rochester with many fond memories of her work and associates. In retirement, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, often reminiscing about growing up and enjoying times at the Genesee River with a very special group of friends, the “River Rats”. Dorie was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and she treasured and cared for many beloved companion pets throughout her life. Her good humor and determination held fast, even as her health declined in her final year.
Survived by her cousins Carole Everton (New Mexico), Rachael Williams (Illinois), Katie Williams (Illinois) and Alexis Williams (Florida), her beloved dog Al and many loving friends.
The family wishes to extend gratitude to Connie LaMendola, Fay Bryant, John Fasick and Laura McNally, Marty and Cathy Gardner, Barry and Pam Gilson, Bruce and Dinah Mayer, Myrna Pease, Rose Reynolds, and John and Martha Sempowski who assisted Dorie throughout her illness.
Special thanks to the exceptional staff at Hildebrandt Hospice who provided comfort and gentle care during Dorie’s final days.
In accordance with Dorie’s wishes, there will be no prior calling. Her memorial Mass will be held on Monday, July 17th, 2017 at 10 AM at St. Rose Church, 1985 Lake Avenue, Lima NY. Private committal of ashes.
