Avon: He was born July 7th 1926 and passed away on June 1st 2017 at age 90 surrounded by loved ones at his home in Avon, NY. Charles leaves behind son Richard (Andrea) Rumfola, daughter Carol (Peter) Kostraba, grandchildren John (Samile) Timmins, Amber (Tony) Fusco, Heather (Mike) Holmes, April Willard, Heidi (Nikkia) Bermudez, Peter (Leanne) Kostraba, and Tyler (Emily) Kostraba. He had a special love and bond for all of his grandchildren, but no greater love than the love for his great-grandchildren Jazelyn, Michael, Chloe, O’Naiya, Madelynn, TJ, Evelyn, and Richard; loving sisters Mary Tyler of CA, Joyce (Bob) McClelland, Gloria Traxler of FL; brother, Ross (Diane) Rumfola of Avon; sisters-in-law, Betty, Ann Rumfola. Charlie will be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends including Tom, Gordon, Dean, Greg and Pat as well as his fury friend companion Leonardo (Leo).

Charles is predeceased by his loving wife, of 60 years, Marie (Toland) Rumfola; parents Ross and Angeline (DeMarco) Rumfola; brothers Joe, Anthony, Phillip, John Rumfola; sisters Frances Boor, Angeline (Don) Cook.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, and a retiree of Gleason Works in Rochester, NY. Charlie will be missed by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his ability to light up the room with his handsome Italian smile, his story telling and his passions for gardening, wine making and fixing everything and anything. Charles is reunited with his loving and beautiful wife, Marie of 60 years.

Family and friends are invited to call Tuesday, 2 – 4, 7 – 9 pm at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. 350 Genesee Street. Wednesday at 10 am his Funeral Mass will be held at St. Agnes Church, Avon. Interment St. Agnes Cemetery, Avon.
