Avon: On May 9, 2014 at age 87. Predeceased by loving wife Gloria, sister June Boyd and grandson Austin White. He is survived by children, Lawrence (Lidya) Abbott, Cynthia (James Herlehy) Sattora, Robert (Grace) Abbott, Jean Marie (Roy White) Abbott; 7 grandchildren, Justin, Robert and Noah Abbott, Marcelino Patty, Matthew and Joseph Sattora and Ashley White; 1 great-grandson, Wyatt Sattora; several nieces and nephews. Mervyn was a beloved friend of all.
Friends may call Monday, May 12, 2014 from 4-8 PM with his American Legion Service to follow calling hours at 8 PM at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 350 Genesee St., Avon. His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Agnes Church, Avon. Interment, St. Agnes Cemetery.
